Mowin the lawn, mowin the lawn! - 4.25 out of 5 (9/25/2000)
I was recently looking over my movie shelf which seemed strangely incomplete near the Stephen King section. If you recall I wrote about the human factor in his films and I quoted a few examples that proved that theory was correct. It had escaped the back of my mind, but another film that expressed a human side to the horror was the "Lawnmower Man."
After checking into it, I discovered I was wrong after all as The "Lawnmower Man" was not a Stephen King film. It rather was based on a short stor

Wheres the Director's Cut? - 3.75 out of 5 (4/13/2002)
The film rating above strictly is for this version of the film only......the full uncut director's cut would get a four star rating!
A good movie is given a disapointing dvd release. The studio cut the film down to about 108mn,when it was originaly 140mn!.
Sadly they only included the 108mn theatrical version & only included the cut scenes as a 'extra',yet can not be viewed with the movie via seamless branching!
The much longer Director's Cut of 140mn...is a much better film, that ma

Not what it could have been. - 3.75 out of 5 (11/3/1998)
I recal when The Lawnmower Man came out on VHS. It was one of my favorites. I poped down my money, and when I watched it I found scenes missing. I was less than pleased. About a month or two later they came out with the directors cut. All my missing scenes plus more. It was great. Now the DVD, granted it has all the cut scenes which came on the second VHS (Directors Cut) but they were not part of the movie, only viewable as extras. It would have served them better to put them in the actual movie

WHOO MAN!! A SURPRISE DVD!!! - 4.75 out of 5 (8/24/1998)
I bought this DVD thinking "ho-hum", but it has proven to be one of the best in my collection! The best extras on any DVD I own, even Starship Troopers. Hidden in the menus is a puzzle, too! GREAT transfer, and WHOPPING 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, and enough extras to keep you occupied for hours and hours, this DVD is well worth it's low price!! Twelve deleted scenes also come with this disc. Genuinely a great buy.
